Over the winter I first noticed the position of the sun compared to the summer. I thought it simply just came up later and we received less sun exposure.
What would face the front of our home in summer, now faced the back corner of the home. Since, I have been tracing its path back to where I enjoy it best - towards the front porch.
Lately, we have been getting sun a tad earlier and for a tad longer. Today, was the day I sat out and enjoyed the sun rising and finding its nook in the sky. Just like your favorite chair that is broken-in by your efforts to sit in it. Just like the feeling of arriving in your home after a long day or after traveling. That is what I see in the sun as it migrates back.
One of my favorite things to do as I wrote about on March 8, How To Measure Wealth,
being with the sun at the start and end of day - are luxuries I value and what helps decide how I measure my wealth. When these mornings get warmer my two kids will join me. And we will talk, maybe drink coffee and chocolate milk, tell stories or just sit and watch the magic and wonder the sun is.
You'll just have to take my word for it. There is no picture to prove this point or action I took. I did think of taking photos. But then decided that I want sun rises and sets to live within me. Not inside my phone for me not to access ever again or for me to look at again as the next sun rise or set will take its place.
If you have not watched a sun rise or set, do yourself a favor and do it, immediately.
