The lies and excuses we tell ourselves. I too am guilty of it. We are not victims. No one gives a damn about you, or me, as they are more worried about themselves.
Some how we have it in our minds that "they" are watching our every move. That they have an opinion on us. And on and on. That is purely untrue. We are all preoccupied with our own image, survival, greed, pleasures, on status seeking moves. It can be liberating once you decide it to be. Meaning, when we each learn that no one actually gives a shit, we don't have to pander. We don't have to curry favor.
No one cares what you drive. What you have on. The house you live in or the job you have. Everyone is focused on what they drive, wear, where they live or do for a living. The hamster wheel of chasing, does not give most of us the perspective of a world outside of us. We are all, perpetually, self-centered.
So go be who you want to be. Have your own version of weird to everyone else. By living how you want to live, free of opinion and judgement, how much happier would you be? Living authentically as you, no one can do that, except you. The task is impossible to abide or adhere to the opinions of others. I mean, when or where does it end? Living by their opinions is a tragic way to ruin and waste away your life.
You're free now. Free from the enslavement of the opinions you've let guide you. Go create and blaze your own path.
