You’re Committing Child Neglect…IF

Ed Mylett in his last book “The Power of One More” talks about pushing and working for your dreams.
He says it’s an insidious form of child neglect when parents don’t pursue their dreams. And somehow, parents will encourage their kids to pursue their own. Or keep their kids from even trying because they never did. Our children will look at us and wonder, “is mom/dad living in their dream?”
Rachel Cruze is known for saying “more is caught than taught.” Meaning kids learn more from observing us, not by doing what we parents say.
So are your kids watching you pursue your dreams? Or do they see you unhappy? Going to a job you hate, coming home cranky and not present. While you’re at home you think of work and while you’re at work you think of home.
Like Ed says, this is child neglect. When we do not pursue our dreams or work for the thing we want, we do not encourage our kids to. So what happens? The cycle repeats itself and your kids will grow up to hate their job and not be present with their own children.
Parents you owe it to yourself to go after the life you want. Build it, step by step and action by action. Show your children it can be done so that it can too. Or, suffer from the consequences of not doing so.
