So Just Run
Imagine not being able to walk so you say, “screw that,” and decide to run instead.
Wilma Rudolph, at the height of her career, “the fastest woman in the world” taught herself how to run even though doctors said she would never walk. Wilma was 1 of 22 children in her family. So with that, she suffered from health issues. She had fights with Polio and Scarlet Fever that would place braces on her legs to help her stand up.
HOW?!
Wilma thought she would walk despite what doctors said. Because she believed she would and because her mother believed it, too. That is all she needed.
The lesson here for us all is, your will and ability to do something is based on what you actually do for it. Becoming debt free, getting in better shape, improving your relationships or being a better — more present parent. The naysayers don’t matter. What do you believe? What are you willing to do? What are you actually going to do?
Will you teach yourself to run even though doctors said you would never walk?
