Why I Love Paying Taxes

“The damn government taking all our money!” I agree with you. Especially when they mismanage our tax dollars. That’s really why we say things like that. At the federal level and the state level, they only want our money.
Taxes if you really think about it will never go down and if they do, it will not be for long. Regardless who we pick here, the state or the government, they fund everything with our taxes. So when they want to spend more, they increase taxes for us all.
I don’t mind paying taxes. Some of the money paid goes to things that actually matter. Like fire protection, police, hospitals and clinics. We all help support the elderly and people who are really in need. Yes I know, there are people who scam the system, I’m not naive. However, that is a matter for the system to have better checks and balances in place to get the scammers out. Overall there are families who need food stamps and I am happy to help. There are people who may not be able to pay their light bill in the dead of winter and it brings me satisfaction that I can help.
I enjoy paying taxes because I know that it does support helpful causes. Taxes help pay teachers, they keep my street clean and the park I take my daughter to.
So while we do get taxed a lot, consider for a moment all the possible good that comes from that. You have but so much control over your tax situation and as Benjamin Franklin said, “in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes.”
