Today in 1991, Rodney King was beaten by police on camera. Police violence on black and brown people has escalated. Today, police shoot, they no longer beat. Shoot first, ask questions later? More like shoot, no questions asked.
Optimistically, many of us thought this would not be the world today. However, we aren’t surprised. What is the solution? The answer?
It isn’t what we see today. The media providing ample coverage on these events has made it worse, not better.
The many changes we have seen and experienced are shocking. Groceries being delivered, working from home during a worldwide pandemic, buying anything you want from a cell phone and having it delivered. At times, the same day you order it. Yet, racial divides, black and white, how segregated we are still, is troublesome.
Thirty-two years have passed since Rodney King was beaten. Let that sink in.
