Validate Yourself
When found from within it means more. But, it feels good to get it from outside of you. From others around you. The people you love. The people you work with. The person you help.
So, are you looking for the approval of others? If so, you may be acting out of character. You may talk and think in a way that isn’t you. You may dress a certain way. Drive a certain car. And worse yet, make terrible financial decisions to keep up appearances. To continue gaining the approval and validation of others.
It’s a tiring game. One you should stop, now. Validation is a drug that wears off quickly. Then, you’re left to get more. To get the fixation you need. It could be social media likes or views. It could be the love you think you feel with yet another sexual encounter. It could be the pat on the back from your boss or making your partner happy, even though it doesn’t make you happy. Validation can be you swapping out your own for someone else’s. You throw your own self-esteem to the side to feed someone else’s validation. In the process you think it feels good. However, you go deeper into despair and the land of the lost.
Sure, you may not be the height or weight you desire. Your hair or eyes may not be to your liking. But we’ve all been given what we have. Some things can be changed or altered, by a variety of means. A new haircut or colored contacts. Or plastic surgery. Nonetheless, none of those things will make the difference you believe it will until you first accept yourself. Secure the self-esteem that you’ve ignored for so long. It may not even be your fault. A partner or co-worker may have damaged it, and you’ve stayed there. Believing the lies. Or, you were just chasing the high of validation. The gold sticker on your chart. The plaque. The award. The recognition.
Stop looking for validation from external events and people that are trying to do the same exact thing. It’s a zero sum approach to life. And you matter more than that. Love and appreciate yourself. Everything you need is already within you. Open up your mind and heart and get to self-discovery.
Validate yourself.

Thought Provoking Questions : How can you validate yourself right now/today?
Daily I write and release a daily meditation. A quick read. Sharing wisdom and asking thought-provoking questions. Influenced by the obstacles, success and failures in my life and of others. Using history, books, current events, philosophy, and ancient wisdom. These writings are actionable, thought-provoking, designed to make your life better.
These writings are not to push a way of thinking on the reader or to force you into a certain philosophy or methodology. Rather to give you practical and real ways to handle life. This is an added tool. My writing is simply a discussion, a discourse, with all the material I read, watch, hear and consume.
