Turn It Into Something
“The bees steal from this flower and that, but afterward turn their pilferings into honey, which is their own…so the pupil will transform and fuse together the passages that he borrows from others , to make of them something entirely his own…His education, his labor, and his study have no other aim but to form this.” - Michel de Montaigne
The work provides fruits. Just like the bee, hoping from flower to flower stealing what isn’t there’s in theory, to make something of their own that is. It is however, part of their nature. This same metaphor we can all use in life. Taking how someone else parents their kids. Observing how a couple interacts and trying that same approach with your partner. Reading a book and stealing an idea or walking away with something that has eternally changed you. A former boss that mentored you well. On the flip side, a former boss that treated you terribly. Your studies. Your previous work and life experiences. It’s all yours. To make with it what you want. But, will you?
At one point none of these moments really belonged to you. However, the moment you were able to learn and walk away with something, it became yours. You own it and no one can take that away from you. We can learn something from anyone. One person’s cheerfulness, another’s humility and greed. Someone’s curiosity and another’s laziness. We can embody anyone we want to be. We can ultimately be and do anything.

Thought Provoking Questions : What can you take from someone else and turn it into something that’s yours?
Daily I write and release a daily meditation. A quick read. Sharing wisdom and asking thought-provoking questions. Influenced by the obstacles, success and failures in my life and of others. Using history, books, current events, philosophy, and ancient wisdom. These writings are actionable, thought-provoking, designed to make your life better.
These writings are not to push a way of thinking on the reader or to force you into a certain philosophy or methodology. Rather to give you practical and real ways to handle life. This is an added tool. My writing is simply a discussion, a discourse, with all the material I read, watch, hear and consume.
