We must set and make the time. To think. This isnt just for inventors, creators and artists. This applies to us all - regardless what we do for work, who we are or where we're from. We all have access to powerful equipment - what Earl Nightingale referred to as, the most valuable, undiscovered land - he was talking about our minds.
Have you ever wondered why in the bathroom or shower you gain such clarity and good ideas? Mainly because that is the only part of the day where you're focused on just one thing - be it brushing your teeth, bathing or performing some other bodily function. Also, if you are brushing or bathing, your phone is likely not with you (hopefully).
What if you dedicated time to actually sit, be with your thoughts and think? What ideas would or could come up?
What ephiphonies would arise with uninterrupted, thinking
time? What problems could you solve?
"All of humanity’s problems stem from a man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone." -Blaise Pascal
We are terrified of our own thoughts. Moreover, scared to sit in a room alone with them and sort them out. We rather seek distraction, pleasure, self sabotage.
How could our lives change if we gave this exercise time and attention? What if we gave it just 5 minutes per day?
We have exceptionally powerful equipment and we are not using it. The world’s best innovations came from thinking.
Ask the Wright brothers, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or anyone you know that has created something. Thinking is what sprouted that seed.
