Today, self-help books and Guru's will have us all believe we can do anything. Similar to a parent, encouraging their child with the same rhetoric. It's all magnified with the power and use of social media. The underlying message is
in broad terms, good and supportive. It does however presuppose that we can do it all. That we have no limitations.
And that is simphy false.
On Tuesday, October 15, we talked about the importance of asking for nelp. In part because life can get heavy and
hard. Today, we can add that we all have limitations and we aren't always in the position to admit them. These
limitations have a by product, procrastination. We start to remind ourselves of what we cannot do and ignore what
we can. We let our limitations stand in front of our ability
to do something and in other instances, our own limitations tell us that we cannot trust anyone to do it either, as they
too are limited.
A great remedy for this is to find your limitation and your strength. then, focus on your strength and do that. Do the one thing. Starting is better than waiting for all the parts to come together, Momentum building could in fact, eliminate some of your limitations. Alabama Football Coach Nick Saban is known for coaching his players on the process.
Not the game or the opponent. But this one play, today, in practice. Focusing only on what is in front of you. This coaching method builds confidence and momentum in his players, so on game day, their limitations become strengths.
