recent interview when asked what the best advice he
ever heard or received. Hanks once voted the most
trusted voice in all of america continues, "if you're
going to do it...do it. If you have the chance, do it.
Don't pause. Instinct man. If you've got an instinct
go at it. Throw deep."
Tom Hanks isn't just telling us to do what we wish and
do it well, also, he's telling us to take chances. In
pursuit of the life we want. Be it art, love, career,
etc.
While throw deep is a football reference, Tom suggests
that we should not play it safe. Throw the ball deep
because when the ball is in your hands, you may just
have that one chance. Use it. Use your instincts.
