Do you hate your job?
One question can change all of that for you.
The golden handcuffs; the pay, the benefits or the flexibility to work from home, keep us at jobs we hate. Afterall, rent isn’t going to pay itself. Your kids might need braces or simply your family needs food.
But what would you do, tomorrow, if money were no issue, if you were guaranteed to succeed and failure was not possible? What would you do or want to do?
This is the question that Ken Coleman asks all of his callers on his national radio show and podcast, “The Ken Coleman Show.”
That is where you should head with time. I do not support anyone working a job they hate. That is why I ended up leaving a job. As a result I became a stay-at-home father and supported my wife to re-enter the workforce. See more about that story here, linked below:

You pursue something you love to do while working full time. Pursue your passion or calling on the weekends, at night or even once per week. You’ll regret not doing it. What’s worse? Continuously working a job you hate or not pursuing something you love.
In a previous blog post I used a line by Ed Mylett in his book, “The Power of One More,” and in the book Ed says, it’s an insideous form of child neglect when a parent does not pursue their dreams.
You don’t want to go after your dreams but tell your kids they can? Actions speak louder than words. Go get yours so that they too can chase theirs. By not creating the life you want you are showing your children they should settle, be unhappy and they in turn teach this to their children.
We’ve heard the expression; love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life. Really what that means is, when you find work you love, you’re alive in it. The feeling is called purpose and that is what we all need to be doing. The world, our communities and families would be much better off if we did more of what we loved and none of what we don’t.
