Teddy Played His Hand
Teddy Played His Hand
He would become one of the most influential Presidents in world history. His name with an abundance of strength and prestige . Yet, it did not start out that way. President Teddy Roosevelt spent the first twelve years of his life wih awful asthma. Almost nightly, he was hit with some sort of attack, many of which were near death. Spending weeks in bed. Teddy did not have to worry about much. He had a name, money, status, and his family had power. But that wasn't enough.
Teddy's dad gave him a message one day that changed and shaped the Teddy, we know of. The strong leader, adventurer and dominance. "Theodore," his father said to him, "you have the mind but you have not the body, and without the help of the body the mind cannot go far, as it should.”
That was the defining moment in young Teddy, for him to workout and train everyday. He lived the hard and
"strenuous life," a life that prepared him for war, politics and eliminated his asthma in his twenties.
Teddy played the hand he was dealt, and made something happen from it.
