A wealthy individual gave a sum of money to three different prospects. When the giver was to return, each prospect needed to return the money given to them.
This was a test to see what each would do with the gift given.
One doubled the sum of money by actively investing it.
The second, increased the original sum of money with a cautious and steady approach.
The third, buried the sum of money and returned exactly what was received. Why? Fear. The fear of losing just a fraction of it was enough to avoid trying.
This is the parable of the Talents - which was a form of currency in the ancient world and, by its literal form, a story about how we each use our talents. what was given to us.
