The Real Life “Hack”
When you practice and develop any skill you transform yourself in the process. You reveal to yourself new capabilities and possibilities that were previously not there. Or perhaps they were just buried inside of you. You develop your mind and emotions in that practice. As you go along your pleasure or what you find pleasurable changes and is elevated. The things that would distract you from the work no longer are distractions and what you used to find pleasing isn’t. You, as a whole, change the more you practice. The real pleasure you discover comes from overcoming obstacles you face every day. You gain more confidence and you become fluent in your skills. You become powerful, more patient and free. You no longer hate what you used to and more importantly, yourself. The more you conquer, the more you look to conquer.
Practice in anything can give you this and more. Good and healthy money habits, being faithful to your partner, staying in shape or getting there. Being a good parent, friend or professional. None of this happens without intentional practice of what is required.
