Pour Into It
Pour Into It
There are moments in our lives where we have to get clear,
where we must demystify certain things. I was once at a conference and a presenter had a dirty glass, likely used to drink a smoothie of some kind. Without saying a word, the person on stage place the dirty-empty class in a clear bin. Then, poured water into it until the glass became clean. Washed away were the remnants of what was, this is called 'displacement of water.'
With enough water poured into it, it washed away what was left behind. It became clear.
The lesson in all of this was, and is, we too can get clear by pouring into ourselves. By providing ourselves what we need to do the task, job or project in front of us.
We must demystify procrastination, and rinse that glass clean
with what and how we pour into it. It feels more complex than just that. It feels much harder. Yet, someone that is pouring into themselves knows it’s not the art or the finished result that matters. They know it's the craft, the process, how they take a big project and break it down to smaller, more manageable parts. Without overglorification of and preoccupation with titles. Focusing all their efforts on the noun, not the verb.Â
