There is no end. We are programmed to think that when school is over that learning stops. In a marriage, effort towards your partner ends, because well, you have them already. Even in professional sports, we see the players that get the money and just don’t play to their potential. The end does not exist. When you think you’ve made it or you’ve overcome a challenge, the next one is close by.
But that is what makes life have these interesting wrinkles. These very obstacles prepare us for the next one. It’s an exercise that gives us options. Either action or avoidance. By interacting with life the right way, you cannot avoid it. This is where strength comes from. This is where you develop mental toughness and problem solving skills. Life is quite literally, on the job training. The next opportunity for you comes at the triumph of the next obstacle.
That is what life is. Pushing past the mess. Breaking through lines for these obstacles. By experiencing each it’s high intensity interval training for your mind and as a result, your body. At the end, all that is left standing is you. Stronger. Better. Ready for the next one. You simply don’t overcome an obstacle to go through life without another. You have issues with family, issues with your partner, complications with work or clients. You also have obstacles in your own mind that perhaps you create. Those too need you to get through them.
When you get over an obstacle, another one will come. You are constantly walking/running up the hill. Success with one obstacle means you are worthy for the next one. And the next one. You don’t panic. You get up and do what needs to be done. With our without help. At 2 pm or 2 am. Time is irrelevant when an obstacle stands in the way.
You don’t attempt to do the impossible. You simply don’t give up pushing up the hill. You don’t give up fighting. You don’t give up doing what is necessary to overcome your obstacle.
It’s not about doing the impossible. It’s about doing all you can so that you eliminate the impossible. Step by step. Action by action.
