Laziness is Expensive
All things have a price and it’s not always money at stake. Sometimes, it can be your dreams, goals, your marriage or your family. Decided…
It’s been a long day. So all you want to do is eat dinner and sit on the couch to watch the latest series. It requires no energy to do this and our brains love it. Charles Duhigg has mentioned this in his book The Power of Habit.
James Clear in Atomic Habits does also. Many researchers have spent time trying to figure out the brain. Truthfully, the brain likes easy. It doesn’t like challenges, even though those challenges make us better.
Laziness is expensive.
Over time you will be unhappy with yourself because you did not lost the 40 pounds, you did not read the book or you did not start writing your own. Why? Laziness. It’s not your fault, there are factors at play that we just aren’t aware of. But sometimes we do make the choice to do nothing. It’s a huge price we pay.
You will hate the version you have become by doing nothing. You will feel unhappy and take out the frustration you have with yourself on others around you. The look in the mirror of shame, hate, guilt and disgust. It’s a bad snowball that gets bigger and bigger. So does the resentment you carry. Laziness will inevitably lead to stress, health issues, an unhappy and unfulfilled life.
All things have a price and it’s not always money at stake. Sometimes, it can be your dreams, goals, your marriage or your family. Decided carefully. Be active in your pursuit. Never just settle.
