Just be. Or do? Or as Shakespeare said, "to be or not to be." We each have our opinions on what a good person is, should be or do. Maybe even what they look like, which need not apply. To be kind, to love, to be a good member of society. Nothing beats just being it, doing it. Everyday, just be one.
"Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be," writes Marcus Aurelius, "be one." We face many distractions and detractors. Temptations. Cravings. Vices. Especially when the world seems to be filled of people doing the opposite of good and coming into power. Making lots of money. Acquiring fame. They get the book deal. They get today's addiction and electronic currency - attention.
Often time it appears being corrupt is easier than keeping your hands clean. Corrupt looks to be instantly rewarding. As Shakespeare and Aurelius wrote, we have the choice to be. To create generational impact. We can be good, right now.
We need more kindness, goodness and love. So be one. To supply it. To contribute. Be the change you want to see. Do the good only you can do. We each have to do our part. Lead by example and inspire the next person with your action, not your wishes.
