The ban of Tiktok has sure received heavy press coverage. There are many interested parties invested in the platform being banned in America. Most of which are normal, day-to-day users of the platform. At times, it sounds like pure outrage. Other moments, users of Tiktok express real concern with how they will waste their time now that Tiktok won't be there to enable them.
Interesting. Perplexing. And, I'm curious.
Where is the outrage with the banning of books? The outrage of the new administration stripping people of rights that have already been signed into law.
We want to ban certain people from entering the country and get allow Tiktok, a foreign social media platform, to infiltrate our country?
A second term president just pardoned criminals, murders, traffickers of drugs and dark-web innovators. Where is the outrage? The concern?
Most of us only care about how our daily lives are impacted. Plus, since most people cannot sit in silence with their thoughts, Tiktok sounds like the perfect place to avoid it. To simply just waste time.
I don't have all the answers. I am after all, an expert in my own opinion. Let's say that the conversation I've been hearing about Tiktok is based on just a casual topic to discuss, well how shallow are we? Do we have nothing better to converse about?
Keep this in mind - when something is free to use and consume without limits, we are the product. The platform is actually using us.
