You might remember the abundance of time you had during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The world shut down, work telling you to stay home, your favorite coffee shop closed and nowhere to get takeout from.
Life felt simple then. For others—stressful—yes. For some of you, you had the most time and peace of your life. And you loved it.
Today, is the complete opposite. How three years earlier life felt peaceful. three years later, here in 2023, you feel stressed. Like there isn’t enough time. You’re so busy you can’t or don’t know how to manage.
Guess what? Nothing has changed. The time has stayed the same. Three years ago you had the same 24-hours you do today. Except what has changed, are your choices.
You decided to work overtime. You decided to take that trip. You decided to say yes to that party invite, brunch, or help your friend move.
The time hasn’t changed. However your choices have.
So if you feel as if today you have no time and three years ago you did, well it’s time for you to change what you do. Say yes, less. Say no, more. Find what feels stressful today. Can it be eliminated or decreased? Look, as life has resumed back to normal, so have the old decision making steps we have taken. This is not normal. Or is shouldn’t be. You should not feel stressed or overwhelmed about time. I’m not saying it won’t happen at times. It might. But all the time?
It's time for a change. You deserve better.
