Kevin Hart on his success.
Kevin Hart in a recent podcast shared the importance of having a team. It may not necessarily be a team you pay or that’s yours. However a team is vital for success in all parts of life. We think of a team as a large group of people that costs us money to get the results we want. But that’s wrong. A team could be colleges that support your weight loss or debt free journey. A team could be a group of friends helping you with a complicated relationship issue at home. A team could be the people who step in to pick up your kids because your car broke down or you couldn’t get out of work in time.
The interview with Kevin was with Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast. Here the emphasis on teamwork and team building is obvious by the comments made by Kevin. You don’t get to the level of success as Kevin Hart and not have a supporting cast. Listen to the PODCAST EPISODE HERE.
How this applies to you: Right now it may feel like you can only count on yourself or that you have to do it all. Truth is you don’t and if you do, this often leads to burn out (I speak from experience).
This will take time and it is not as easy as it sounds. To start we need to surround ourselves with the kind of people that want to win, succeed, grow, change and challenge themselves. This can be people near you or people who live far away but you can remain connected to. Community is important. It takes a village and it’s up to you who you want in and out.
Find people. Connect with them. Add them to your list of trusted people you can count on and they can count on you. Nurture the relationship and love them. In this episode Jay Shetty says, “if you like a flower you pick it, but if you love a flower you’ll water it everyday.” When we love something or someone we take care of it and give it what is needed. So use that quote from Jay to find your village because they’re also looking for their own.
