How Long Can You Wait
Drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Aaron Rodgers was selected 24th in that first round by the Green Bay Packers. A talented player, drafted by a team that had a talented, yet older, quarterback.
The Green Bay Packers had many reasons to insert Aaron Rodgers. However, he sat, on the bench for three full years, waiting for his turn. In that time we can assume he was anxious to be number one. Anxious to have his name and number called. He may have even requested it, or demanded it to the head coach. But he just sat there.
In that time he learned. He became what’s called in sports, seasoned. Being able to learn from Brett Favre and his coaches. Rodgers was able to work on his game behind the scenes so when he got his chance he would shine. And ultimately, he did. Rodgers was drafted in 2005. He took over the starting quarterback position in 2008 and led his team to the championship game in 2010 and won.
Are you willing to wait your turn? To sit and learn. To watch, observer and work on your game behind the scenes. Working on your craft or process so when you’re called on, you can perform.
No. You complain about the snub. You complain at the slightest degree of of recognition you don’t get. You want the promotion now, even though you may not be ready for it. You may not be ready lead.
Instead of focusing on what you aren’t doing while you wait, focus on what you can do to be better. Just focus on getting better today. And tomorrow, just be better than today. At the end of so many days stacked on top of each other, you will find what you’re made of. What is yours. What is invariably for you. Your name will be called and you will perform. You will shine.
Can you wait?

Thought Provoking Questions : Do you have patience and understanding to wait your turn? So that you’ll be ready?
Daily I write and release a daily meditation. A quick read. Sharing wisdom and asking thought-provoking questions. Influenced by the obstacles, success and failures in my life and of others. Using history, books, current events, philosophy, and ancient wisdom. These writings are actionable, thought-provoking, designed to make your life better.
These writings are not to push a way of thinking on the reader or to force you into a certain philosophy or methodology. Rather to give you practical and real ways to handle life. This is an added tool. My writing is simply a discussion, a discourse, with all the material I read, watch, hear and consume.
