Time Being Stolen From you
Today my mother would have been 64. She died December of 2020 from complication from Covid. A young 64, especially when you consider how long people can live to and live to today.
Since her passing, I have been more strict with myself on time and how I manage it. What things go in to my calendar and what doesn’t.
More importantly the things that take time away from what matters. Are you on twitter arguing with some clown instead of talking to your partner? Or if your partner says “are you coming to bed” and you respond with, “yeah hold on.” Just because you’re typing to someone in the comments.
Your kid wants to play but you find other things to do instead, like wash dishes. Or having discussions with people who clearly don’t know what they’re talking about at a party, “ I love Trump because he speaks his mind.” Shut up!
When the likes matter so much that you consistently check throughout the day how your post did, to than hate that only 17 people viewed your video.
But thats just it! You’re losing each time. No one wins here except the algorithm. You are giving away the time that is most important for shit that means nothing. Its time you will never get back. Its time you allow to be taken away from you. I wrote a piece called Protect Your Time.
You should check it out and audit your day. See how you invest time and how you spend (waste) time.
