Festina lente - an old latin phrase, meaning, "make haste slowly." Or be quick, yet, slow down. It’s
an oxymoron. Its heart is telling us to slow down because that is the fastest way to get where we want.
A prime example that fits this pattern is with money.
Often, we want get rich quick and it burns us. When, the real path to financial security and success, is outlined. Its available to all of us. Furthermore, the evidence that it works, to go slow, is widely available.
This sounds like some sort of Aesop's fable, doesn't it?
The turtle and the hare. Slow and steady is the way forward, with any endeavor. Navy Seals have the same philosophy; "slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
But we rather the home run, instead of consistent swings and hits. We want instant reward and gratification.
We cannot wait for the results to come in. Taking time to do things will give us better results than rushing through them. With fewer mistakes, the steady approach means we get more done. There will be less delays and procrastination is reminded who's in charge.
We actually save time by slowing down.
So have the urgency to slow down. You'll see what difference it makes.
