What a year. We didn't do all we wanted. Maybe we weren't the person we wanted to be. Maybe, we did less.
Less of what we wanted and more of what we didn't. Maybe, we procrastinated a bit too much. Well, rest easy. We all fall, slip, stumble and fumble. Forgive yourself.
Don't continue being hard on yourself. Blame yourself once and move on. We can now get ourselves together for what lays just over the horizon - a new year, a new day, week and month. A new opportunity. A new chance to discover what is next. Will you dust yourself off?
Try again? Keep showing up?
Samuel Johnson wrote in his journal at the end of 1775 as he stared at 1776 coming in; "I try because reformation is necessary and despair is criminal." We cannot allow ourselves to fall into despair. That is when failure is realized. When no comeback or do-over can be had. If allowed to be taken over by despair its like a terminal illness that has reached its apex.
STOP!
Maybe procrastination has led to this despair or despair breeds more procrastination. A new year brings with it a new hope. Channel that. Have belief in yourself. Dust yourself off from the dust of earthly life and return to yourself at once.
