It can be quite pervasive, the thought that all we have is now, today. That tomorrow is no certainty. Sure, we know this is true. Hustle culture reminds us of the urgency life requires - how our dreams won't be fulfilled.
I think these reminders exist because we need them. Just as the reminders we face about exercise, healthy eating and mental health. They present themselves because we need the reminder. Sometimes we fall off, or, we fall into a cycle of bad habits and six months may pass, before we take notice. An outside source may be the one to tell us that we have fallen off.
This blog, these pages I type daily, are that. The steady and constant reminders I need and when I interact with my readers, they too need. It's the check engine light of our lives. The green neon sign indicating to us what is wrong or what needs our attention. It's the smoke alarm telling us our urgency is required.
A reader of this blog once told me that my writing over time echos the same themes. My response, "thank you." First, I don't write for a particular audience. Second, that is exactly the point of my writing. It circles around the aspects of life that repeat themselves. For those of you who journal, you might know what this feels like - as your journal is filled with pages of the same or similar struggles. That is what the human experience is. We all struggle and most of us with the same things. Themes repeat, just in variations. Lastly, I write to share my struggle, experiences or what I've learned, which is wisdom based, grit and achieving the good life.
