Change Your Perceptions
We suffer more in imagination than we do in reality. This is a Stoic maxim by Seneca.

What does that mean? In our thoughts we agonize over the details, the “what-if’s.” We think of all that could go wrong and so, it all feels real. The situation hasn’t even happened yet. Still, there you are, thinking about how hard it will be to pay off debt so you never start. You think about all the paperwork you need to file to start a business or the amount of effort you’ll put into getting a new job. “What if they never call me for an interview?”
We have become soft, spoiled and weak as a culture. Think of all the things our ancestors went through. With no internet, no cell phones, or Uber. They have been through the same things we have and with less resources.
What’s your excuse? Instead of thinking how hard something will be, think about what life would be like after. Now start working towards that today. You can complain and do nothing and complain some more. Or, you can change your perceptions. Change how you see and think of things and get to work.
One final Stoic saying, “the soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.” — Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
