Writing this blog daily I had no expectations and I still don’t. Obviously, I want people to read it, share it and most importantly use it in a way that is helpful to them. To spark change. To inspire and to move into action. Regardless of the steps taken or the action done, big or small. The aim is to challenge ourselves and grow.
Over the last several months many have reached out to share with me that this blog has inspired them to start writing. Or in the case of my big brother Freddy, resume writing. To read my big brothers short blog, CLICK HERE.
My big brother shared his new writing with me yesterday. That is the purpose of this blog. No, not to get you to write. To help move you in the direction you want or need to go. And this is why I write it, everyday. To move me closer to where I want and need to go. It’s easier to not write each day. Yet, that is not what my life is meant for.
Like most younger siblings I wanted to be exactly like my brother. Not due to the simple, developmental progression of a younger brother to his older brother. I desired to be my brother because he has that Midas touch. Everything he does/touches turns to gold. As a kid I saw my brother in many ways. Star athlete. Nice dresser. Talented artists. World-class craftsmen. Successful businessman. Great friend. Finding his passion and creating a world of his own.
So when my big brother reached out to tell me he’s writing again because of me, that is very moving. How often can a younger brother inspire his older brother? No doubt if Freddy continues writing, that too will be gold.
Big brother, you’ve served as my role model for many years. Thank you for sharing this with me and thank you for always supporting me. I love you. Let’s write something together one day.
Thought Provoking Question 1 : What can you do to get closer to where you want to be or do? Take a step, even if it’s small.
