I have a correspondent, named RJT. He and I exchange letters by typewriter. Hes a friend and I know him personally.
Yesterday, RJT commented on this blog, “ bending not breaking.” Ultimately that is my belief when it comes to routine versus having practices I value. A routine can be broken, but having practices that are important, can bend, without breaking. And I appreciate RJT so much for that description.
Later on in the day yesterday, I was catching up on unread emails and I subscribe to the 3-2-1 Newsletter, by James Clear. And in his latest issue of February 13, 2025 he writes; "If you do not bend you will break. The adaptable prevail. Determined, but flexible."
That coincides with RJT's comment. My way of operating as was the case yesterday with my late blog submission. Also, lifts up again the idea of resilience.
I'm glad for these dots connecting. Perhaps, I needed to read them the way I did or just coincidence. Like palm trees in heavy winds that sway this direction or that. The winds may howl, but the tree remains in place. In many respects, these very strong winds are what solidify the roots of these trees, just as the winds of life solidify our standing.
