Be Completely Obsessed
In our time, it’s the obsession of an artist or athlete that catapults them into a class of their own. Many in fact credit their success to being obsessed. The author that is obsessed with how the reader will understand the book. Steve Jobs, obsessed about every detail of the first Ipod or Iphone. Kobe Bryant obsessed, with being better, each and every day. Obsession can be effective at getting you where you want to go.
Jerry Seinfeld had the same experience.
“I am completely obsessed. And the audience wants that; they pay for that. I don’t want to see someone who’s kind of into it. That’s what I care about. That’s all I care about. I don’t care what you do—I just want to see people talk to people and be around people who are into it.”
Be it an artistic pursuit, health goals or anything else. Be obsessed about the process. Regardless of who we speak of in the conversation, it’s not the end result they’re after. It’s the processes. The obsession to work on the bit. To work on the jump shot. To work on the craft. That’s what matters.
So too is the case for everything you do and touch. Be obsessed.
Thought Provoking Questions : Can you be obsessed about the work? If you find obsession to be a vice, than how can you get closer to obsession to get you closer to your mark?
Daily I write and release a daily meditation. A quick read. Sharing wisdom and asking thought-provoking questions. Influenced by the obstacles, success and failures in my life and of others. Using history, books, current events, philosophy, and ancient wisdom. These writings are actionable, thought-provoking, designed to make your life better.
These writings are not to push a way of thinking on the reader or to force you into a certain philosophy or methodology. Rather to give you practical and real ways to handle life. This is an added tool. My writing is simply a discussion, a discourse, with all the material I read, watch, hear and consume.
