Activism Starts At Home
It takes a lot to bring change. People come together. Money being exchanged. Forces aligned and created. Today, you may have a purpose or causes that you care about. Deep rooted in that care is where activism is born. Where you will hold the sign, go on the march, dedicate your life, your deeds and money to. Activism is to bring change to an injustice or to better the community, and world for the overall greater good. Activism happens in many forms and can be done in many ways. Activism, however, starts at home.
It starts at home if you’re a parent and you want to teach your children values and virtues that are important. This of course is done by action, not by words. If you aren’t a parent, this doesn’t change the fact that activism starts within you first. It starts with the good you want to do for yourself and within yourself. It continues with how you treat your neighbors and other members in your community. Before you can change the world, you first have to change your world.
A cause. A charity. A group of people. There are endless ways to step up. It takes courage. It takes passion. It takes something inside of you.
Activism starts with you. This is how you learn what to stand for. As the expression goes, if you stand for nothing, you fall for everything.
Thought Provoking Questions : What do you stand for? What cause, charity or group do you keep close to your heart and why? How can you become an activist for yourself?
