We’ve heard the expression. Actions speak louder than words. While the two at times are not related or connected, mostly they are. And can be. Because what you do or don’t do, overshadows what you say, or don’t say. You can tell people you’re a present parent, however you actions at home will show otherwise. You can tell your partner you love them but how little time you give them says otherwise. You can instruct your children with your words. Or, your actions will teach them what to do or the opposite.
Acta non verba - latin for deeds not words. We would all rather feel loved than be told. We would rather be respected than told how much someone respects us.
Doing the right thing instead of thinking about it or talking about it. Donating to the cause instead of discussing it. Helping a friend in need instead of thinking about it. Taking your kids to the park instead of promising them that you will. Giving your kid the cookie instead of using it as a bribe and not following through. Actually going to the gym and working out, not just saying you will.
Actions speak louder than words because we all feel actions. It resonates in our hearts and mind. Words mainly only live in our minds, in the moment.
It’s about your identity. Becoming the person you say you want to be. For yourself and others around you. You become dependable. A man/woman of your word. A person of action.
But it’s the right action. The actions that correspond with the person you want to be. The story you want to tell. What lives within your mind and heart.
When deeds speak, words are nothing. - Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

Thought Provoking Questions : In what small way can you start to demonstrate the action that means more than your words?
Daily I write and release a daily meditation. A quick read. Sharing wisdom and asking thought-provoking questions. Influenced by the obstacles, success and failures in my life and of others. Using history, books, current events, philosophy, and ancient wisdom. These writings are actionable, thought-provoking, designed to make your life better.
These writings are not to push a way of thinking on the reader or to force you into a certain philosophy or methodology. Rather to give you practical and real ways to handle life. This is an added tool. My writing is simply a discussion, a discourse, with all the material I read, watch, hear and consume.
