January 24th entry from Leo Tolstoy
In today’s entry of A Calendar of Wisdom, by Leo Tolstoy, is the following:
“Nobody knows where the human race is going. The highest wisdom, then, is to know where YOU should go: toward perfection.”
Yes, perfection does not exist. But it’s the idea of living and pursuing perfection. That is the difference we should all seek out.
Kobe Bryant said that is exactly what he was after. While he knows he won’t achieve it, that was the difference between he and all the other players in the NBA. Most players will not pursue perfection. That is what gave Kobe the edge over the competition. The consistent pursuit of perfection.
Use these tales and quotes as inspiration in the areas of your life you feel it fits. As a partner, parent, professional and most importantly, within yourself. When you have this philosophy of life with yourself, it will spread to other areas of your life.
